Sina Smart Holding Becomes the Country’s First National Data Operator

CEO of the Artificial Intelligence Holding of the Mostazafan Foundation announced that the holding has successfully obtained a National Data Operator license

Tehran (IRNA) – The CEO of the Artificial Intelligence Holding of the Mostazafan Foundation announced that the holding has successfully obtained a National Data Operator license from the government's AI Development Headquarters, becoming the first organization in the country to do so.

According to IRNA, citing the Department of Science, Technology and Knowledge-Based Economy, Mehdi Rouhani-Nejad stated that the National Data Operator license was approved by the government's AI Headquarters late last year and officially issued earlier this year.

Explaining the role of a national data operator, he said that its responsibility is to create an AI-based platform for data management and analysis.

According to Rouhani-Nejad, the platform will be capable of collecting, cleaning, and standardizing diverse, heterogeneous, and large-scale datasets from various databases. It will then use intelligent models to analyze data, extract knowledge, automate processes, and develop intelligent agents.

He added that because data held by different government agencies, public institutions, and major industries is typically fragmented and decentralized, the platform has been designed to collect, aggregate, and integrate these datasets. The system will also ensure security and privacy while enabling data sharing among different organizations, allowing managers to make decisions based on up-to-date information and comprehensive AI-driven analyses.

The CEO emphasized that data-driven decision-making, the creation of a data marketplace, and the intelligent transformation of industries are among the primary objectives of launching the data operator within Sina Smart Holding.

Rouhani-Nejad continued by noting that, in addition to the National Data Operator license, a National Data Marketplace license has also been issued. This marketplace will enable different organizations to share data while complying with security standards and can help automate and modernize processes across various sectors. Data transfers will be conducted in full compliance with existing security protocols and standards.

Referring to the priority sectors targeted by the Mostazafan Foundation, he said the foundation intends to use the platform in areas such as:

  • Food security
  • Intelligent supply chain management
  • Multimodal transportation
  • Fraud detection and risk management
  • Industrial digital transformation and automation

According to Rouhani-Nejad, in the field of food security, managers will be able to monitor agricultural and livestock product supply and demand more accurately, manage distribution and sales processes, and identify factors contributing to potential imbalances.

Regarding the investment required for the project, he stated that preliminary estimates indicate that approximately 3,000 billion tomans will be needed to complete the platform.

The CEO also noted that various components of the platform are being developed by subsidiaries of the holding company, and some of the operator's services are already available to companies affiliated with the foundation. He added that, according to current plans, the operator's full range of services is expected to be launched within the next year.
