According to the official announcement, the conference will bring together researchers, academics, practitioners, and policymakers to examine how Islamic economics and finance can support inclusive and sustainable growth. Its objectives include translating research into practical solutions, strengthening support for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), and improving financial access for underserved communities. The event takes a broad view of innovation, encompassing digital technologies as well as institutional, regulatory, and financing-model improvements.
The conference covers four main themes:
- Inclusive Growth: Financial inclusion, integration of zakat, waqf, and sadaqah with formal financial systems, MSME financing, and the distributional effects of Islamic financial instruments.
- Innovation: Fintech, digital payments, and data analytics, alongside institutional design, regulatory and governance reforms, and financial product development.
- Industry Development: Islamic finance for industrial upgrading, value chains, and the halal industry, together with Islamic capital market instruments for infrastructure and green projects.
- Policy Coordination and Stability: Coordination across monetary, financial, fiscal, and social-finance policies; systemic risk, resilience, stress testing, and empirical evaluation of policy impact.
The event is organized by Bank Indonesia Institute as the annual conference of the Journal of Islamic Monetary Economics and Finance (JIMF). Published by the institute and indexed in Scopus, JIMF is an international journal providing a platform for research and scholarly exchange in Islamic monetary economics and finance.
