University of El Oued in cooperation with the Office of Fiqhi and Judicial Studies, will host Tenth International Conference on Artificial Intelligence

University of El Oued (Shahid Hamma Lakhdar University – El Oued), in cooperation with the Office of Fiqhi and Judicial Studies, will host the Tenth International Conference on “Artificial Intelligence and Its Applications in Islamic Sciences”

Date: Wednesday–Thursday, November 29–30, 2023
Conference website: http://faculty.univ-eloued.dz/faculty/isi

Conference Rationale

The contemporary world is undergoing rapid digital transformation across all aspects of human life, with artificial intelligence (AI) emerging as one of the most influential modern technologies. AI has demonstrated remarkable effectiveness in various fields—industry, commerce, media, medicine, education, and management—through diverse models such as neural networks, genetic algorithms, and intelligent systems.

Despite these advancements, the application of AI in Islamic sciences remains limited compared to the extraordinary progress achieved in AI systems. This gap underscores the urgent need for scholars and researchers in Islamic disciplines to explore and adopt AI technologies.

The conference seeks to examine pathways for employing AI systems across the spectrum of Islamic sciences and to address key questions, including:

  1. Do Islamic sciences require AI to meet contemporary challenges and pursue higher intellectual aspirations?
  2. How can AI outputs contribute to the advancement of Islamic sciences?
  3. What are the prerequisites for integrating AI into Islamic disciplines?
  4. What tools and methodologies can overcome obstacles to AI implementation in Islamic sciences?

Objectives

  1. Emphasizing the openness of Islamic sciences to AI in the digital age.
  2. Clarifying how AI technologies can serve various Islamic disciplines.
  3. Building bridges between Islamic studies scholars and AI specialists to foster knowledge integration.
  4. Identifying practical mechanisms for employing AI in Islamic sciences.
  5. Addressing fiqhi and ethical issues related to AI applications.
  6. Supporting legal and policy frameworks that promote AI deployment for societal development.
  7. Presenting and evaluating successful experiences in applying AI to Islamic sciences and identifying key challenges.
